Parties, Pubs & Pizzerias (a cozy winter tour)

CS NL Poster

It has been too warm in Ottawa to feel like winter is really on the way (and who knows if it will be in January) but just in case, we have planned a very cozy tour of Ontario/Montreal to stay warm and to hang out with old and new friends.

I’m going to be doing my first ever acoustic tour, with Montreal-Ottawa based fiddle and banjo combo, The Noisy Locomotive.  I’ve been a fan of these fellows for quite a few years, and am looking forward to hearing them play every night, and singing some songs together.  I’m used to playing through a large amplifier, but this cozy tour will be a stripped down set-up, for house shows and we are even playing at the Wolfe Island Pub & Pizzeria for maximum winter survival carb effectiveness.  Come join us 😀

OvernightTonight I get to play music with two of my dearest friends.  Carla and Lynette Gillis are amazing and heavy musicians.  They changed my life when I joined their band, Plumtree.  We’ll be playing some songs together at Ottawa Bluesfest tonight (in between Canned Heat and Bahamas)

There is a town in North Ontario

Actually, there are a few….it has been a while since I’ve been to Moosonee or Sandy Lake, but I’m glad to be headed to the Soo, Sudbury and North Bay this week.  I’ll be at The Townehouse on Wednesday, the 24th of June, and playing a house show on Thursday, the 25.

Excited to be in Peterborough twice this month, to play, and for a harmonica workshop. First, I’ll be joining Blues in a Bottle for their Tuesday night March series. I’ve been a big fan of Dave Tough’s songwriting and style for several years, and I’m excited to hear live his band’s take on jug band classics. Tuesday, March 17th.

I’m very excited to announce that I’m part of the first ever Not Quite festival, which is showcasing Peterborough music. I’ll be giving a harmonica workshop and playing a show! Thursday, March 26th.

FB Megaphono

There are so many great people making Ottawa’s music scene one to be really proud of! Megaphono is shining a big light on some of the people that make Ottawa’s music scene so great, February 3-5th for their first ever festival. Amazing venues include the Diefenbunker, and my favourite, Raw Sugar Cafe, where I’ll be playing with the lovely Jill Zmud and Kristine St. Pierre!

Early show! (so you can catch the rest of the music later that evening!)

Kristine St. Pierre 4pm
Jill Zmud 4:45
Catriona Sturton 5:30
